BIRDWATCHING IN EL PARDO

El Pardo Natural Reserve, set in the wooded parkland known as the Monte de El Pardo, an area of some 16,000 hectares to the North of Madrid, is the Palace of La Zarzuela, residence of Their Majesties The King and Queen of Spain.



The Monte de El Pardo is a wooded area situated in the north of Madrid City. It has a National Patrimonio (unfortunately is closed for public visits) and also has a Natural Park Status, with abundant diversity in vegetal and fauna, including protected birds as:

    • Imperial Eagle, black stork, black vulture, griffon Vulture, white Stork, bee-eater, golden Oriole, eurasian Roller, orphean Warbler, hoopoe, rock Bunting, great Spotted Cuckoo or blue magpie.
